New York City Gay Men's Chorus

The New York City Gay Men's Chorus began at Washington Square United Methodist Church with 80 people. It's first official performance took place on December 19, 1980 and one year later, they were performing in Carnegie Hall. They are the fourth gay men's chorus in the country preceded by San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.

Now with over 250 members,the group has appeared alongside such stars as Liza Minnelli, Stephen Sondheim, Marilyn Horne, Barbara Cook, Victoria Clark, Liz Callaway, Carol Channing, Joel Grey and Eartha Kitt, to name only a few.

The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus is a member of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA), the world’s only association committed to serving the LGBT choral movement and the New York Choral Consortium .
