The Mormon Tabernacle Choir

360 members strong, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is made up of men and women of varying backgrounds and professions ranging in age from 25 to 60.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir held its first performance on July 4, 1873 and is named after the Salt Lake Tabernacle where it has performed for over a hundred years. The Tabernacle also houses a very impressive organ consisting of 11,623 pipes, making it one of the largest and most elaborate organs in the world. The organ has long been associated with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "signature sound," though the Choir does sing a capella and to orchestral accompaniment as well.

The Choir has appeared at 13 world's fairs and expositions, performed at the inaugurations of five U.S. presidents, and sung for numerous worldwide telecasts and special events. The grammy winning choir has achieved "gold" and "platinum" record status.
