Over the years Cameron Mackintosh has be presented with many awards including: the Cameron Mackintosh Chair of Contemporary Theatre at Oxford University in recognition of which he was made an Honorary Fellow and Member of the Court of Benefactors of St Catherine's College; the Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theater; the Oscar Hammerstein Award; the national Enjoy England Award for Excellence for his Outstanding Contribution to Tourism; the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement; was knighted in the 1996 New Year’s Honours for his services to the British Theatre; and is President of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.
