Many shows have started Off-Broadway and, after a successful run, some shows transfer to Broadway. Some notable examples of shows that have transferred Off-Broadway to Broadway include:
Spring Awakening, Grey Gardens, Hair, Little Shop of Horrors, Next to Normal, Rent, Sunday in the Park with George, Avenue Q, In The Heights, and Scottsboro Boys.
